This is a Garden Duster Box from the 30s – 40s. Estimated Retail Value is $12 - $20 depends on condition and makers.  Made of tin with 2 handles.  Used putting lime on the garden to help the soil and repeal some harmful insects.  The box, once filled with lime has 2 handles that the gardener would hold to and shake the duster over the cabbage and tomatoes to keep the worms off.  Lime did not hurt the environment.  Has anyone ever seen one of these in the local area or have an interesting story from the old days - Give us a call at Holly Hill Farm Antiques 695-1146 or call the comments line at GLO-Clips.
