 This is an
rare Hay Roller for a barn from the early 1900s. Estimated
Retail Value $250 - $300. Our
price is $250.
This item was turned upside down and rolled across a beam in the
barn. It was moved back and forth with a rope. Hay was hooked
using the claw like item in the other picture, hoisted off the wagon, slid
into the barn, then hoisted up to the second story of the barn - all
in one steady motion. Still hard work but much easier than carrying each
bale of hay up a stairs or ladder to the lofts. These are very
rare. I have not come across one in quite some time. You don't see these very often and
this one is a very rare one and in excellent condition. This is a nice primitive that is very
collectible.
