Back
on the Farm – What is it?
This is a Ricer
from the 30s and 40s. Estimated
Retail Value $18. Every
depression era farm kitchen had one to mash cooked potatoes or cooked
rice. This kitchen item did
not use any electricity saving money – every penny mattered back during
the depression. I am 73 years
old and have seen this used many times to mash cooked apples, bananas, and
vegetables for babies and sick people.
Back then – we made our own baby food and did not buy it from the
store until after WWII. Has
anyone ever used one of these or have an interesting story about life in
the “old days” - Give us a call at Holly Hill Farm Antiques 695-1146
or call the comments line at GLO-Clips. |
