This is a Cracker Tin from the 1930s and 1940s and is called a Krispy Can.  Estimated Retail Value $10 - $18 depending on condition.  Made of tin and is used to store crackers, pop corn, chips, peanuts and cereal crisp and tasty or getting bugs.  This one is very interesting as you put the top into a oven and heat till it turns blue and ready to absorb moisture.  Over time the blue knob (spelled NOB in the directions) turns pink which tells you to put it back into the oven and repeat the process.  You know, they weren’t so dumb back in my days.   Has anyone out there ever seen one of these cracker tins?  Give us a call at Holly Hill Antiques 695-1146..
